Kirsten and I were talking about ways to share shipping expenses for dogs. We need to have solid numbers for shipping costs and number of dogs, but there may be a way to either share a dog box or share airline kennels. If Kirsten and shipped our dogs out from Nome in the boxes that Phil makes, we may be able to ship the box (or Kennels) back to Nome when we arrive in Anchorage to have for you guys to ship back to Anchorage. Just a thought but until solid numbers (numbers of dogs, weight of dog boxes, etc.) are determined I cannot reach out my contact person at NAC for shipping vouchers. Any thoughts on this possibility? This is only an option if we can find transportation from Anchorage to Nenana. If not, we will need to fly the dogs to Fairbanks. Phil is back in town and is working on dimensions and estimated weight on the dog box possibility. Are people planning on running 12 dogs in your team?
