For a much better alternative than Mountain House, MREs or other freeze dried meals I suggest you check out Adventure Appetites. This is a local Anchorage based company and was founded by a colleague. I have used them on several long expeditions and trips and taste far superior to the other brands.
They also have breakfast, lunch/snacks and dinners and a responsible price.
