I will be taking 12 dog. Phil, I would love fish for my dogs. How will I get this from you? I did speak to somebody at Everts. Their backhaul rate from Nome to ANC is $.38 per pound ($.33 plus fuel surcharge and taxes). What is the rate for NAC? Everts flies out of Fairbanks but not back into Fairbanks. I will call NAC today for a straw shipping rate from them. The same issues though remain: we need to identify somebody to pick the straw up and store it securely.

Finally, I need to know the places where the food drops/straw drops will be. I understand they will be done every three days but they need to be coordinated to where we can get a drop off by plane. Personally, I think we may have to compensate the person who is picking the stuff up and storing it. Just sayin’

    • The backhaul rate will be a little higher than Everts if I am reading it correctly. BACKHAUL RATE
This rate is provided for items shipped from hub destinations back to Anchorage or Fairbanks.

Freight weight in lbs. × .35 × Fuel Surcharge × Federal Air Transportation Tax = Backhaul Rate. However, for dogs in airline kennels they have a one rate shipping fee of 50.00 but for other things like sleds, gear it would be less expensive. I am not sure about Everts dog shipping fee. NAC travels to Nome Monday through Saturday with two flights on Tuesday and Thursdays. Everts travels here 3 days per week (Tues, Thursday and Friday). NAC seems to more dependable for their flights schedules so for shipping dogs, I would recommend NAC. I agree about offering the person accepting our goods compensation to be determined.
