woven poly bags are typically used by mushers as drop bags for dog/people food and items for checkpoints. The Serum Run used to use orange poly bags so that their bags were easily distinguished from Iditarod drop bags, which were landing in the villages around the same time. You can buy these drop bags on line. They have orange and yellow; I’d suggest that we all pick one color and go with that so our bags are easy to pick out. The bags come in bundles and the price is reduced with the more bundles you get. If everybody likes this idea, then we could do a group order for the Valley mushers and Marla and their machiners (I’ve got handlers headed to FBNKs in mid-December) and the Nome crew could get theirs in a different group order. Let me know what people think. I’m definitely going with these colored bags for myself.
