Michele has done some work on finding prices on crates here in the Valley. Amazon will not ship according to their site. She went to Petco in Wasilla and they have two sizes between $99 and $129. She also went to Three Bears on Pittman. They sell them for $139. Walmart site is unclear if they will ship.

Remember we are requesting everyone have two crates on the gear sleds for each team.

This is a huge unexpected expense of $1200 to over $1500 just for the crates not including shipping OR transporting to/from Nome.

I know some of you are thinking about dog boxes and while this may be a viable option you have to account for the amount of time. the experience to build them and the shipping to/from Nome. I know that Phil has offered to build them, we can’t expect him to build them for every dog team.
