Even though Badger didn’t have a great class yesterday – I was able to see where there are some things to help this.

A breakdown in the bond and in communication can happen when we’ve spent time away from our dog. This is okay, you had to work in the field. To rectify, when you get back together it is very important to get Badger’s attention by getting hi to look at you when you say his name. Always praise him when he does this even if you haven’t called his name. Eye contact is a big trust building exercise.

Praise what you like and don’t give in when he doesn’t comply. If he lays down when you’ve told him to sit and stay you have to enforce that or he won’t believe you when you ask him to do things.
