I have started confirming with our checkpoint hosts that we are indeed leaving on 02/22/2020 from Nenana. There will be a lot of information posted here…

Roughwoods Inn – 907-832-5299 Kari confirmed that the café has been reserved for us 02/21/2020 and she will remain open past 7pm if we need her too.

Old Minto – 907-322-3619 First Chief Joseph Alexander. You will need to MELT snow. This is a dry cabin rehabilitation center. You will need to cook your own meals.

Beaver Point Lodge – 907-378-1522 Myles Thomas. Water can be heated on stove. Meal accommodations are being made for gluten and diabetic guests. Iron Dog will have marked the trail between Nenana to the Tolvana River, Myles said he plans on going out and breaking trail to assist you guys. Weather – he reported that it is warm but and may get a small amount of snow but nothing like they’re predicting on the Norton Sound side this week.

Manley Lodge 907-672-6181 Heath (Lisa’s son) will be the person who comes out to the lodge and will turn the water ON/OFF for you. Park the dogs along the fence, they will try to have some rakes available for clean up. Remember LEAVE NO TRACE rules. I will be contacting Heath on the morning of the 24th as you leave Beaver Point to let him know an ETA so he can be there.

Tanana 907-366-7170 Curtis Summer and Stan Zuray 907-366-7114 or 366-1000 Closed for President’s Day – will call tomorrow

Ruby 907-888-2458 Billy Honea and 907-468-1004 Mike Day (host at school) Mike said to park the dogs on the ball field next to the school. HOT Water available.

Nulato 907-898-2204 Shaine Nixon Closed for President’s Day – will call tomorrow

Kaltag 907-534-2204 Charles Burns Closed for President’s Day – will call tomorrow

Stephanie if you’re able to make a final contact with your villages letting them know its a go and the day to expect the group that would be awesome. I’ve let my side know how much we appreciate their hospitality and I told them that Kirsten will be paying for the lodging when the group arrives.

Kathleen – You will need to MELT snow at Old Minto, Boneyard, Trapper Cabin, Old Woman, Safety/Nuuk. I would suggest planning on bringing enough for two additional days.
