Straw purchasing report – Thanks Kathleen for restating the straw needs.

I’ve talked with Sandra at the Animal House in Nome and she will order our 22 bales of straw at her next order. I will pay her for them when she lets me know they are ordered. Nome straw cost for Julia, Robert, Marla & Kathleen is $172.20 each. Nome straw cost for Kirsten & Stephanie is $129.15 each.

Straw cost per musher from Cold Spot is $180.00. I will call Cold Spot shortly after Christmas to start working them them to figure out the timing for ordering. I need to confirm with Stephanie that Barb Moore is able to deliver our straw to Nenanna (Aaron Burmeister will hold on to our straw for us in Nenanna and we have tarps to cover it) – and then I can just let Barb work out pick up with Cold Spot.

And maybe Barb is taking straw to Manley too? Not sure about that.

So if Mushers can send me what they owe for straw I can deposit that and plump up the bank account – everyone’s $500 deposit does cover the cost of straw so I can make the purchases before the straw money is sent in – but the sooner the better as lodging expenses will start being needed to be paid.
